Portsha is a professional performer and dancer who has studied various styles of dance, and has been teaching creative and folkloric movement in schools, community centers, and studios for the past 9 years. She danced with Petit la Croix, the Bay Area's only Haitian Dance company for 7 years. Portsha traveled throughout Haiti in January 2003, to research regional song, dance and music. She studied at Ecola Nationale Des Arts (ENARTS) and at Vivian Gauthier School of Dance with Madame Gauthier and Cadet Jean Evans, as well as independent study with Peniel Guerrier.
 
Come on out and experience this exciting and rhythmic dance form and enjoy the richness of Haitian culture! All levels welcome!

This popular upbeat class features a super Haitian-style drum ensemble.
Working in sync with the drums, Martha Perez guides students through
a wonderful variety of traditional Afro-Haitian Dances with subtle
grace.

Offered three times a week in two beautiful locations. The atmosphere is
always supportive and relaxed.
