It is a family oriented circle. Many bring bring blankets, picnics and stay for the day. Starting time is flexible but by 3 it is usually going full blast. Summers cut off time is 9PM.

This is a circle that welcomes those who gradually work themselves in, being respectful and gentle. Many have been playing and dancing there for years. It is DEFINITELY not a place to come intent of showing off one's licks.

We are a leaderless group open to all levels and ages. the drumming is primarily african but anything goes. there is no official teaching but people are happy to share their knowledge. Bring your own drums or percussion instruments if you have them. We meet in an enormous dance studio so there is plenty of space to dance if you're so inclined (no shoes allowed in the space). Mostly, we drum, but, when we're lucky,
someone will lead us in chant. we hope that you'll be able to join us if you're in the New York area. Please contact us if you need further info.
